We're a husband and wife team with a love for all things rusty and unique.
Our company started out as a brand, Dennis John Industrial, which is a line of handcrafted home decor and furniture made from rusty old salvage materials. Our products have been shown in numerous issues of Taste of Home Magazine, and help furnish cool places like Roast in Times Square (New York City) and PT's Brewery in Las Vegas!
It all started in 2014 when Milissa found a lamp on Pinterest that she wanted for our living room. It was a floor lamp made from basic pipes and had a modern industrial look to it. DJ smiled and told her he could design something even better with supplies he already had in the garage. The next day he gave her a light made from pipes that featured a valve, a large gage on top, and Edison light bulbs...she loved it and so did everyone who visited our house! That's when we decided to start making pieces to share with the world...and Dennis John Industrial was born!
We've had a busy few years of attending markets and expos with our products and have decided to open our own store! Since we enjoy antiquing and all things old, our adventure will expand to more than just home decor...it will be a "picking barn" filled with things that would make your imagination run wild! We've collected so many DIY supplies (for all you Pinterest addicts and handy people) antiques, oddities and vintage items and are making them available to the public! This barn will also display our Dennis John Industrial line and other items made by the best makers in the Midwest!
DJ had a successful career as a Journeyman Steamfitter and Milissa has a background in Broadcasting and Event Planning. We are thankful that we came up with a business that we are able to combine all of our talents and work together, because we truly enjoy what we do!
When we're not busy, DJ loves spending time growing organic produce in the garden, roasting organic coffee beans, and brewing his own kombucha tea. He's also an avid thrill seeker in the mountains and in the water!
Milissa's hobbies include making natural beauty & home products, sewing, and photography. She also is a Door County Certified Tourism Ambassador and the writer behind the Door County Vibes blog!
And as you may have guessed, we love cheese and the Green Bay Packers!
